GMIS - MARITIME HUMAN CAPITAL
India’s maritime sector is entering a decisive phase where human capital will determine its ability to compete globally. The theme “Navigating the Future: Building a Modern Maritime Workforce” reflects the urgent need to align skills, education, and opportunities with the rapid transformation of global shipping. In a world shaped by shifting trade routes, technological disruption, and the demand for greener practices, India’s demographic dividend offers a unique advantage. With more than twelve percent of the world’s seafarers already Indian, the challenge is not only to sustain this leadership but to expand it by preparing a workforce that is agile, inclusive, and future‑ready. The event will encompass two panel discussions with participation from leading voices from across the maritime shipping industry.
Seafarers of the Future: Building a Modern Maritime Workforce:
will explore how India can harness its young population, coastal communities, and training institutions to create a globally competitive talent pool.
Charting Tomorrow – Talent, Technology and Transformation in Maritime Human Capital:
will examine how digitalisation, automation, and sustainability are reshaping skills, and how India can lead this transition.
